Most French verbs end in -er (like parler, to speak), and they all follow the same pattern in the present tense. Drop the -er to get the stem, then add the ending that matches the subject:\n\n- je -e · tu -es · il/elle -e\n- nous -ons · vous -ez · ils/elles -ent\n\nThe -e, -es, -e and -ent endings are all silent, so je parle, tu parles and ils parlent sound identical — the subject pronoun is what tells them apart.
