Le subjonctif présent

The subjunctive is a mood used after expressions of will, emotion, doubt, necessity, and certain conjunctions — typically in a subordinate clause after que.\n\nForm it from the ils form of the present: drop -ent and add -e, -es, -e, -ions, -iez, -ent. ils finissent → que je finisse.\n\nTriggers include il faut que, vouloir que, être content que, avant que, bien que, pour que. Several key verbs are irregular: être → sois…, avoir → aie…, aller → aille…, faire → fasse…
